I now have 25 stamps in my virtual culinary passport, and I have virtually travelled on 55 flights between countries. I’m writing this post from the departure lounge of Manas International Airport, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, while I await my first of three connecting flights to Haiti to top my virtual tan.

That puts me, more or less, one eighth of the way through my escapade, with a predicted finish date of December 2031.

I wrote in my 10-country review that I had been lucky enough to share my cooking with up to 40 people. Sadly, with socialising being varying degrees of illegal throughout 2020 and into this year, many of the dishes since then have been sampled only by me or a very honoured single guest.

That being said, fun has been had: rum punch and sunbathing in the garden for Barbados; the incessant toasting and necking of the Georgian wine; and cooking Guatemalan food for my house Christmas dinner was practically a party!

Fingers crossed for some real dinner parties for the next 25.

My top 10 so far:

#1 China

#2 Morocco

#3 South Africa

#4 Malta

#5 Trinidad & Tobago

#6 Seychelles

#7 Guatemala

#8 Moldova

#9 Ukraine

#10 Georgia
